So there we were, standing in front of a PC, trying to think of an idea on how to make our computer tell us at any time, what its IP was, without having to interact with it. A lot of ideas to take in concern, though none could work without using a lot of bandwidth or a lot of RAM. What had to be done, was simple. We needed to be able to connect to the PC at home, when we were at the office. The ISP, wants lots of money to make it happen providing a static IP and the free DNS forwarding servers….well lets just say than not only it is not that easy to setup, but they couldn’t also work with my macs. So what we really wanted, was the computer to somehow tell a server “Hello, it is me!”.
