The duty of web search engine is help people specialized and efficiency find the information on the web.
The three steps of web search engine are: Searching Web information,Pretreatment process and Retrieval services.
Searching Web information is done by the web spider. We regard the entire network as a directed graph, in accordance with breadth-fist way to find. The pretreatment is complicated, including parsing and indexing HTML web pages, calculating the importance of each web page, as well as the elimination of duplicate pages. Retrieval services, we enter a string in search engine, then get the termed by doing text segmentation. We can get what we need in index. The Search engine is built in the LINUX environment, web spider is written by C language,mysql is the database which we will used, word segmentation achieved through php.
