Sauthpf is an asynchronous authentication system based on IP address (sauthpf-daemon).
This permits to authenticate a user from a web interface and load his rules in PF exactly like authpf but in an asynchronous way.
You can also make your own authentication program and use the daemon socket to load session.
Sauthpf rules are deleted with a program (sauthpf-cleaner) when sessions expires or at log off, this program must be added in crontab.
Sauthpf provides also program for squid, this is a rewrite url program, it detects IP adress and update user field if a session exists, then it pass the request to another rewrite program.
Sauthpf comes also with a php module, this one is used as a web interface.
The final result is interesting when you use squid with squidguard and other tools to analyze log.
