Interpretive Semantics, is a linguistic theory founded by François Rastier. It is a "second-generation" synthesis of European structural semantics, developed in the wake of Saussure. François Rastier aspires to reunify hermeneutics and philology in material hermeneutics.
This paper, Web Semantics V. Semantic Web, he wrote recently, explains the ideas behind this project.
We aim at building the basic computer platform of this endeavor. We will focus in particular on string processing (Finite State Technology, Suffix Trees, Suffix Array), textual statistics (cooccurrences, clustering, statistical learning) and textual interfaces (annotations, passage of text highlighting).
Eclipse is the development and integration platform.
