The idea for the were-proxy is a proxy that looks innocent, but turns bad when used for comment spamming. Namely, what it does is look at POST requests and replace all URLs with the ones specified in a configuration file. It also checks the response to the POST request and reverses all the changes it made in the response so the proxy user does not notice anything. It can also pick a random proxy from a list for the submission of the modified POST request. All other requests exit directly.
The idea behind this were-proxy (as in werewolf) was as an experiment. The author would like to shake up the well established blackhat industry of comment spamming by supplying a tool that can both enhance and destroy at the same time.
The proxy runs inside Apache web server, so it will run on almost all shared hosting platform, provided you have access to the .htaccss file. It does not require a database.
