In 2002-3, we published the book "Flash MX for Interactive Simulations: How to Construct and Use Device Simulations". This focused on how to create interactive simulations particularly of mechanical or electronic equipment, featuring a hierarchical state-machine architecture ("state engine") and a set of equipment interface components.
The book gave code using Macromedia Flash MX"s AS1 (ActionScript). With the introduction of AS2, we released an update for the materials in 2004. In 2009, we released an AS3 state engine, and, finally, in 2011, we are releasing (here) the set of interface components and all prior work. We repackaged the state engine to put it into a consistent domain with the components: com.eqsim, instead of our earlier domain, com.flashsim.
We decided to release all the material as open source to allow the community to work off ou
