SF2 is an opensource, generic framework for constructing cloud computing platform. The framework is based on virtualization technologies like other systems (VMware Infrastructure 3, Eucalyptus and etc.) but it is designed for different use. While most cloud computing platforms are desigined for cluster-based systems in a single data center (LAN environments), our framework mainly focuses on WAN environments, which might be a content delivery network (CDN) or a federation of clusters in multiple data centers.
