When visiting the last flea market in my home town I was astonished that people were sitting at simple desks and collecting the money with typing the positions into an Excel Table. Later on they had to manually merge all the sheets from different Excel Sheets into one.
Starting from this experience I tried to create a cashier system that is multi user capable, based on a real database, light and fast. Finally I came to the conclusion to build the new cashier tool on GWT running on a Jetty/MySQL appserver. Also to have an easier installation I created an installer based on the Nullsoft Installation System.
