ShrinkMIDI is a utility which removes data from MIDI files that is usually not required to play them correctly. For the most part this is removing text data and other ancillary information. Additionally ShrinkMIDI can fix MIDI files with very minor amounts of corruption. ShrinkMIDI also applies standard routines for saving space inside a MIDI file. The objective is a valid MIDI file which is smaller but sounds identical.
The program is designed for the command-line only at this time and has only been tested on Windows XP so far.
