This Project is about Conducting in real-time automatic music generation algorithms with MaxMSP using a midi instrument or a gestural controller.
As a case study, we developed several tools in MaxMSP for conducting kin.Rhythmicator performance in real-time through the user performance with a midi instrument or a gestural controller like wiimote.
This means that the computer must have some listening capability in order to apply this analysis data as a performance conductor.
The interconnection and multidimensionality of mappings allows to establish clear relations between multiple analysis parameters to one control parameter, while simultaneously breaking the User expectations.
While being a work in progress, the current versions are still prototypes, but feel free to try it,
grab code, whatever, if you are willing to dig it… I would love to know if you find these things useful for your projects, and how you are using them.
