TimerScheduler (t-s) is a library for fairly accurate, low speed timing of function calls in Arduino sketches. It is being developed by Ed Bennett (ed@kineticsandelectronics.com), and hopefully others.
The Arduino microcontroller (MCU) platform has become the standard hardware/software environment for activation of sculptures, installations, and input/output for New Media physical interactivity. Conceptually, time and timing are important issue in art making, and one that the Arduino is delinquent at. Here is a student quote that illustrates a facet of the problem:
“I have been trying to figure out how to get my Arduino to do a thing at a rate that I have fairly precise and variable control over... The problem is, I can"t seem to wrap my head around how to make this happen. Here is my specific example...”
