The goal of the repeatability/workability effort is to ensure that Computer Science papers stand as reliable, referenceable works for future research. The premise is that experimental papers will be most useful when their results have been tested and generalized by objective third parties.
Since 2008, ACM SIGMOD has delivered a repeatability label for the accepted papers whose experiments can be repeated. This project is a means to create workflows that encode the computational processes that generate / derive experimental results results (including data used, configuration parameters set, and underlying software).
The goal of this project is to develop an extension to VisTrails for representing SIGMOD Experiments as workflows.
Vistrails is a workflow engine developed by Juliana Freire and her team at University of Utah.
