I need a 1360x768 framebuffer emulator environment via a linux(fedora core 8)based virtual machine(VMware workstation 5.5.1-build 19175 at Windows XP)during a STB project(HD player with SMP8654 MIPS-based SoC), I find lots of patches for kernel 2.4 series after many times googles. So I decide to port the patch to kernel 2.6(kernel source used here is linux-2.6.29) .The driver code work fine in my development cycle.I think the code would be work fine ok with all linux kernel 2.6 series.
