April is a Linux based next generation class of operating systems. It features a brand new system design and implementation that makes it completely different from the traditional model of Unix-like operating systems. It is not a Linux "distribution". April features a system "shell" that features all original code and a completely reformulated design implementation.
The primary goal of this project are:
To create the highest performing operating system in the world.
To build a system that is "intelligent" and capable of self healing and automatic repair.
To build a system that presents the user with an interface as familiar as possible.
To give the user as much power as possible without compromising system security and stability (make it idiot-proof)
To showcase the stability, scalability and high performance of the Linux kernel beyond the limitations of being POSIX compliant.
