The purpose of the project is to implement a Graphical User Interface based on (1) a lazy pure side effect free functional language; (2) a windowing toolkit widely available. The project team has chosen AWT to do the windowing. The functional language is Clean. The method of accessing AWT is described by Merten Joost and Udo Backhaus in "JAPI, eine Bibliothek zur plattform --- und sprachenunabhangigen Entwicklung graphischer Benutzeroberachen"; the C-side programs are described in Jorlano Donizete"s thesis; the Clean side is based on a suggestion by J. van Groningen.
