Due to the increasing number of books and data loss because of errors on manual inventory, the Textbook Exchange and Rental Center (TERC) of the University of the Philippines Los Baños requested an Inventory Management System. The said project will not just help minimize book and data loss but it will also reduce the work of the assigned employee because manual logging of transactions will be replaced by ready-made forms.
To answer the problems regarding the manual inventory system, a database will be provided to ensure the accuracy and security of data and at the same time, reduce the possibility of book and data loss. The said database will provide easy modification of data like adding a borrowed book, removing a book and modifying information concerning a given book borrowed. In addition, a tracking system will be introduced to minimize book and data loss and a reporting system to aid the problem regarding monthly reporting of inventory.
