Goals are to integrate as non-intrusively as possible to your work flow, to maximize likelihood of entering keeping accurate.
Analytics come in second. As second-pass processing, they can be combined or composed to support many different purposes or target metrics. For example, processing to adapt to enterprise-wide time booking systems, analyses of interruptions, sub-components of projects.
