This paper is a project report for the Data Warehousing and Data Mining course at the Free University of Bolzano. The report presents the design of the project (prototype version). Moreover, the main idea, advantages and disadvantages of the selected method will be discussed. We want to determine database data density. A good way to do that is by using probability density function (PDF). A PDF is a statistical function that provides continuous probability density information. This project deals with the implementation of the Adaptive Probability Density Function (APDF) method for 2-dimensional data which extends PDF adding the concept of error estimations. This method processes data until the difference between the true-value of the function and the estimated one is lower or equal to the predefined error parameter.
