This is a simulation of a a wavefront near a black hole.
It allows you to see the light bending around the black hole, and how it will rotate around the black hole before falling into the event horizon or escaping to infinity.
The set of null geodesics emanating from each point forms the light cone. The image of numerous tiny light cones near the horizon of a Schwarzschild black hole is very well known, but it is more difficult to find the image of the full light cone, extending to an arbitrary time. This program takes a family of null geodesics, like the light cone at a point, and draws its evolution.
