The JIRA Gadget can be used to show, for one JIRA user, the number of allocated hours across projects. Further, it signals when releases are due. This helps to detect:
1. Developer overload
1. Developer under-load
1. "hot phases" where multiple release dates fall into the same time period (e.g. week or day)
This plugin assumes that project work is done in a manner where tasks (e.g. bugs, tasks, etc.) are assigned to users ahead of time and the expected time to complete the tasks is maintained (e.g. time to completion). A typical example for this is the outcome of a sprint planning session that results in story cards that are maintained in JIRA.
