MAPPER: Metaproteomic alignment and phylogeny of peptide expression renderer
Environmental metaproteomics is a new area of research that studies protein expression in nature, rather than in pure laboratory cultures. Identifying partial protein sequences, or peptides, in these samples is no small feat. Visualizing these peptides and interpreting their likely origin will hopefully be made a little bit easier with this software.
This program takes:
* A protein sequence alignment
* A phylogentic tree in nexus format
* A list of peptides
And creates an integrated visualization that incorporates a phylogentic tree and heat-mapped alignment. For an example, please see the downloads section.
