MCLB-NG is an operation zone based multi-core load-balancer as a next-generation multi-core scheduler. MCLB-NG means "Next generation multi-core load-balancer". We describe how to reduce the critical costs (e.g. direct costs, indirect costs, latency costs) by reducing the user waiting time on multicore systems that use a partitioned per-CPU run queue scheduling technique. Rather than focusing on naive load-balancing scheme for equally balanced CPU usage, our approach (MCLB-NG) tries to minimize the cost of task migration by considering the importance level of running tasks and to optimize per-CPU utilization on multi-core embedded systems.
MCLB-NG contributes a lot of strong points over the existing Load-balancer (LB) as follows:
Support sufficient CPU utilization for CPU-intensive tasks like the existing LB.
Reduce variant costs (e.g: direct costs, indirect costs, latency costs) because of the task migration.
