In this model we use Repast framework to simulate the stock market prices using Brownian motion. We make agents trade call options using Black-Scholes formula with unknown volatility and we compare the resulting option market prices with the Black-Scholes model.
For the first 50 days of the simulation only the stock market operates. Starting from day 1, agents calculate every day the historical volatility looking at the past stock market data for a length of patience days. Then, they multiply the historical volatility by judgment an they update the maximum and minimum volatility estimations.
Then, using this band of volatilities in Black-Scholes formula with a user defined maturity (0.25 to 1.25), drift and interest rate, they produce the range of prices in which they are willing to trade call options.
