twitter-gx

twitter-gx is a simple script which submits Twitter tweets from the command line, or from a zenity dialog. It handles length checking and shortens large URLs using twurl.nl. twitpic-gx is a similar script which submits pictures to twitpic. It relies on curl, zenity, and awk at the moment, but will probably be expanded to use wget if curl is not found. Note that this script will no longer work after June 30, 2010 when Twitter shuts off basic authentication. I have no plans to update this script to handle OAuth and may simply delete this project at any point if I max out my Google Code project foundry limit. If you"re looking for a good command line Twitter client which can do everything twitter-gx can, try out ttytter. Its license is not as permissive, though, and not GPL-compatible.
