Description
C-Zone uses a proprietary protocol to authenticate and configure clients on their ETTH network. Their Linux client is very basic and brittle: it requires manual IP configuration and lacks informative logging. It is a painful experience for laptop users.
This alternate client, czoink, supports auto-configuring of network interfaces. It will take over any interface that is connected to the C-Zone network, but won"t touch it if is plugged into another network.
Czoink interacts well with NetworkManager other network configuration tools that use ISC DHCP client (dhclient) via the OMAPI protocol. Suspending/resuming a laptop and plugging/unplugging the cable works as expected if you are using NetworkManager (or anything else that starts/stops dhclient automatically when the link status changes).
Czoink also features configurable logging levels and targets, including syslog.
