If you want to install a simple bash-based environment on Windows quickly, then Zimsis may be what you are looking for. It a repackaging of MSYS bash, plus the basic MSYS command line tools, as a single ZIP file. To install - simply download the ZIP and unzip. No registry changes, no creation of files in any directory except the one you unzip to.
