This project was developed as part of the Fourth Year Design Project Course at the University of Waterloo by a group of Undergraduate Computer Engineering Students.
The purpose of this project is to design a device that allows for wireless transmission of media
content from a user PC to a TV. The advantage of this tool over commercially available
products (i.e. HDMI, Apple TV, PC-on-TV media player) is portability, compatibility
with older TVs that do not support HDMI, and ease of setup.
The Portable RF multimedia transmitter is designed to take in media from a user PC through
USB 2.0 interface, encode the media to NTSC, modulate the signal to a UHF band and
broadcast it to a TV. Figure below provides a high level overview of the system
