ASMF is a messaging-based framework for Adobe Flex & AIR. The framework offers an alternative to Adobe"s Cairngorm. In ASMF, the View and Controller components communicate with each other by sending/receiving messages to/from the MessagingService (essentially a message bus). Both publish/subscribe (using Topics) and request/response models are supported.
The MessagingService allows loose-coupling between the UI Components (View) and the business command/controller logic (Controller). ASMF also introduces the use of a ViewMediator for each view, allowing event management and data management to be refactored into the mediator class. These patterns will make your code clean, modular, extensible, and most importantly, easily unit-test.
