The security API that provides the functionality to encrypt, decrypt the password with the specified encryption key, also it provides the methods to generate activation key, generate auto password.
Basic need of the encryption & decryption of password is in the web application where the application has to keep the password as secure.
e.g:- In your login application, once user logged in & suppose the password should be in session for further need then you can encrypt it the API, and suppose your encryption key is the user name /userid of logged in user, you can decrypt it same way.
No hacker or password tracker can track the password even he knows the encryption key, because I have provided some special previleges for such encryption & decryption.
