Dictan Core Java Library is an open source Java which presents the core interface and functionality to work with FDB (read/write) and ZD/ZPAK (read-only) dictionary bases. The library is under the license of LGPL version 3 or later.
FDB dictionaries have the following advantages:

Ability to store media attachments (sounds and images) for the articles
Support of hyperlinks between articles and external resources
Easy integration to any operating systems including portable ones
