Speculate is a GUI program written in python. It accesses online stock data and stores price and volume data in local files. Price data for a stock can be plotted, with optional lines showing the success of any transfer of that stock in the current group.
Stocks are grouped (portfolios), and the initial groups are SP500, DJI, DJU, DJT, and ALL. New groups can be defined, and stocks can be added and deleted. Several group data reports are available, including a profit report, and more reports can be defined via filters.
A group of stocks can be screened (filtered) to give a subset that satisfy up to 31 filter parameters. Each parameter can have the following settings: minimum value, maximum value, Hi/Lo as possible, % effect.
