Amountd is a lightweight hotplug/auto-mount daemon. It is aimed at lightweight Linux distributions that do not have HAL/udisks.
Amountd is Unix Shell based. It doesn"t rely on Perl or Python. It only depends on udev and a handful of most commonly used Linux commands. And it is Busybox compatible. It was initially developed for CDlinux. With some slight modifications, it can also be used on other similar distributions.
