C-Forge is an Eclipse-based tool-chain built by the DSIE research group of the Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena, Spain. It aims to support a component-based development process that uses a component model entitled WCOMM for modeling application in its core and that then relies on model transformation to target different execution platforms. Since WCOMM models components as white-boxes, we have developed a C++ framework, entitled FraCC, and a set of auxiliar tools to provide the runtime support needed to fully execute WCOMM models. One of the main characteristics of FraCC is that it provides the developer full control over the concurrency characteristics of the final application, thus making it possible to analyse its real-time behavior.
