CouchUnit is a JUnit extension to help administer tests run against CouchDB. It mimicks the syntax and feel of DBUnit by helping developers write tests that load XML style datasets to place databases in known states between integration tests.
Written in Java, couchunit is a single jar (with 2 dependencies) that is placed in the classpath. A number if standard operations are used to store and remove couchdb datasets.
Any number of documents may be declared within a single couchunit dataset. CouchUnit is built on JDK 1.5. Sources were built with Maven2. It is not necessary to install CouchDB to build CouchUnit from sources. A special Maven profile may be run that will skip integration tests and produce the final couchunit jar.
Future versions of couchunit will most likely include maven plugins to load couchunit datasets defined in external files.
