MITRE Developed Multi-Touch and 3D Gesture Experimentation Framework.
Touch interfaces all expose the contact points to software developers using proprietary or inconsistent interfaces, but the basic information is the same. In addition, most of these platforms force developers to use their proprietary SDK and heavily modify their applications, or at worst completely refactor them to work in the multi-touch world. Its become apparent to us that there are lots of applications out there where users are interested in seeing and feeling what their particular application would be like if it were multi-touch enabled. We developed this software originally to enable a Java application in the MS Surface world. It"s grown as we have received more interest in using this for other applications including Kinect integration.
Our vision is to provide a gesture interaction prototyping framework and help define standard gestures and their definitions.
