Maiyam is a Java Servlet container and web server from the QRD labs. A web server serves out web pages in response to requests from a web browser. Maiyam is very good at this because it provides both Java servlet and JavaServerPages (JSP) technologies (in addition to traditional static pages and external CGI programming). The result is that Maiyam is good choice for use as a web server for many applications; also if you want a free servlet and JSP engine. It can be used standalone or used behind traditional web servers, with the traditional server serving static pages and Maiyam serving dynamic servlet and JSP requests. Maiyam is the servlet container Implementation for the Java Servlet and JavaServer Pages technologies. The Java Servlet and JavaServer Pages specifications are developed by Sun under the Java Community Process. Maiyam is developed in an open and participatory environment.
