Background
Helixoide SlServ is a project to connect the virtual world in SecondLife to a channel on an IRC network.
There are a few slServ projects out there but none that (i know of) are open source. This project is completely open to the public. The project itself is based in Java which makes it completely cross platform compatible. The system also is designed to be has generic as possible. This allows for individual developers and users to make use of the system without having to modify the code.

Finish securing the system: At this time SLServ has limited security in regards to who can create and attach devices to channels. If someone figures out the protocol (which is not hard) and manages to create a device the consequences to a network could be horrific.
Subsection of securing: to secure the system the best option is to find a password only someone in charge of a channel would know, and have that be required by the
