Doghost is a sample java desktop application.
It is build on netbeans IDE, and intends to provide a framework that can be used as a step by step guide to construct a real world java application.
The targeted scenario is a dog hosting service, but I belive many of the solutions provided by Doghost code to the problems it addresses are of general nature.
Doghost uses Toplink JPA as persistence on top of PostgreSQL, but the database can be replaced by JavaDB or anyother db with a decent JDBC drive.
It makes use of beans binding and data binding that, allied with persistence provides a modern approach to Java programming.
