This is an attempt to create an engine that will manage a publishing system jointly with a version control system (VCS). Common publishing systems are OpenOffice (LGPL), Adobe© InDesign® and QuarkXpress® (proprietary, each using their own binary format), while Subversion (svn) will be used primarily as VCS. The bulk of the code is to be written in Java, though other languages may be used too. Thorough testing has to be performed first to converge on the optimal specification for the project.
